One of my first metalworking projects was making a brass hammer that has proven  useful over the years.   Using brass for the head helps prevent damage to the work.  

When I first assembled the  head to the handle, it was not properly aligned.  This was one of my first exposures to problems that can arise during metalworking. 

The overall length of the hammer is about 150 mm.
